unique location on island from land & sea. big and functional room with a storage space and a kettle and good view from it.

My stay was very positive, nothing too much trouble, would stay here again. The rooms are spotlessly clean with exceptionally comfortable beds and safe. Helpful service, they provide a private parking and free Wi-Fi. And the pool is well-maintained.

The breakfast was excellent, the location perfect. There was always a parking place for our rental car. The hotel is located very quietly and yet it is only half an hour walk from the old town of Funchal. Simply perfect.

In the hotel we were relieved of the whole organization with taxis. Everything worked perfectly! Very friendly staff and a great breakfast buffet.

The hotel is located at the west of the city, one should be good on foot, but the buses stop right above the hotel. The hotel is very clean, with great breakfast and very tasty dinners on a half board basis. The room is great for single travellers, great sea view and sun all day long. Everything was very clean and all staff very friendly

Unfortunately a wardrobe was missing, so that I had to live the 3 weeks from the suitcase.

Hotel Gorgulho is in a excelent localization, perfect for city walks and a dive in the sea. The price is excelent and the breakfast is very good. In resume: a very cheap hotel with an excelent location and fair clean rooms with a view.

The breakfast is ok, no special preparations but everything is there. The roof terrace is nice when it's open. Unfortunately you can't go there during the day and Monday, Tuesday and with wind you can't go there either. We would have liked to sit there more often.

No wardrobe in the room takes getting used to.

The worst hotel in Funchal, definitely the ugliest

Nicely decorated hotel with well-equipped and tastefully decorated rooms and a functional bathroom. Favourable location a 10-15 minute walking distance from Lido. Well kept area with bars and restaurants close to the property.

great location but room for improvement

The sea view from my room was amazing. Daily cleaning was thorough and left the space fresh. The breakfast selection, especially the fresh fruit and prosecco, was good.

The compact area around the pool felt a bit cramped during peak hours.

There was free Wi-Fi throughout the property and the service in general was helpful.

Good value for money good location Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice chinese opposite.

Babies cot was not available on the first night we stayed, despite requesting one. Fortunately we had a travel cot with us so it wasn't a problem but had we not got one it would have caused a problem. On our return for a second night there was a babies cot available so that was good. The card machine was also not working on our first stay so I had to use up all my spare cash!
